Hong Kong

Hey ! Im back from my dream holiday!

How was it you say?!?!? AMAZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZING!

As promised pics and documentry of my holiday!

First stop Hong Kong!

We arrived in HK in the evening, and soon as we got to our hotel we quickly freshened up and headed out to explore!

We stayed on Kowloon Island, just off Nathan Road.

The minute we turned onto Nathan road my breath was taken away with the amount of Neon Lights everywhere! It's just like how you see it on TV!

Asia Trip
See I told ya!

Some more lights!

After that we set off to the harbour front to see the famous Symphony of lights of the Hong Kong Island Lightshow!

We arrived there a bit early as the show starts at 8pm every evening.

We walked along the harbour and found the star walk of fame like how they have it in Hollywood

Asia Trip
The great, Bruce lee!

Asia Trip
Jackie Chan!

We continued to view all the other star plaques but didn't recognize any of the others, mainly because they are only famous in Asia.

It's 8pm! SHOW TIME! :-D

The Skyline of HK Island

Asia Trip
The lights in action!

Too be honest it was over hyped in my books! I mean don't get me wrong! It was good! But it just didn't live up to the hype that people made it out to be! All in all the show lasts about 8-20 minutes and by the time 5 mins go by your pretty board already.....The photo opportunity wasn't that great the night we went, because these was a lot of smog/mist in the air so I could'nt quite get a good picture of it.

The Next Morning We headed off to the Peak Tram to get a view of the Hong Kong Harbour! Our guide book says this is one of the best places to get a good view of the Skyline!

Tram takes you from the ground level all the way up the mountain!

Peak Tram

Asia Trip
There are only 4 stop between the bottom and the top of the peak

Having said that they aren't stations really, rather the peak tram stopping at different points on the peak where people may get off to get to their homes.

Asia Trip
The view from the top of the Peak! Amazing!

I did prefer it by night see the shot I took at the night...

Asia Trip
I'll leave you to decide which one is the better!

Asia Trip
This is a pic of me Camwhoring in front of the view...

Asia Trip
I took this picture on the way back down the peak about half way down! Eaaaaaaaaaak!

More to come soon in the next post!

Nike + iPod

Having been told by the doctor to go easy on weight lifting for a while as my ligament in my wrist has become swollen, I have decided to lean up and do Cardio Vascular to make sure I'm not wasting my gym membership.

Everyone knows doing Cardio is BORING! So I decided to buy this Nike + Accessory to help me keep motivated! I have to say it works, this thing keeps track of your times, how much fat your burning and how far you have run.

Nike + iPod

All the information is sent to the Nike Plus Website where you can track your progress, they have graphs representing your workout against time, its really cool!

My First Run Tracked
Graph of my first run!

It says that I...
Burnt: 221 calories,
Ran: 3.23 km
Pace: 7:29 min/km
Duration: 24 mins and 15 seconds

You can even create your own avatar on the site! Look at mine it's so cool!

Let's see if I can improve! Wish me luck!

Indian Game Show

I came across the video on Kennysia.com

I seriously can't believe that this actually happened???

Name of the game show is called Dadagiri (Which means in Hindi - Arguing)

How can she slap?! HOW CAN SHE SLAP?!?!

I feel sorry for the guy, I mean he was just reacting just as any one else would get slap by someone he doesn't know and for no reason! And the poor guy gets beaten up by the co-host and all the people on set.

This just goes to show TV is getting even more sick, and that we are becoming a world of looser . Is this what people want to watch on TV? No wonder the whole world is killing each other!

Buddha Bar

For my wife's birthday we went to the famous Buddha Bar. We went to the recently opened London Buddha Bar. For all of you that don't know what Buddha Bar is I will explain.

Buddha Bar is a internatinally know set of complitation albums featuring the finest of world music (Particularly Asian music).

The collection of music inspired the opening of a Bar/Resturaunt which is insprired by Buddhism theme. In the Buddha bar they play music from the Buddha bar albums in the background. With combination of the music and dimly lit atmosphere it creates a nice chilled out romantic atmosphere.

Buddha Bar London

The food is a collection of pan Asian dishes ranging from Vietnamese, Indian, Thai and Japanese food.

The food was amazing, and the wine was divine! The cheapest bottle of red wine was £30 and the appetizer I ordered cost £20! But the night wasn't about the money it was my wifes birthday so we just enjoyed the great music and food.

We ordered our mains, my wife ordered Thai Red Prawn Curry and I ordered the Lamb Curry, both were yum!

For dessert I ordered a dessert wine and my wife ordered Chocolate Fondue.

It was all going so great, until I asked for the bill...

£130.57

OMFG! LOL!

After I got over the price I thought it was all worth the money, plus we wouldn't go there every week so once in a while it's ok to blow your wallet.

I recommend you should all go! Or at least buy the album it's a lot cheaper la!

Happy Birthday :)

This is us at the top of the famous Blue Mountain, weird they grow the most famous and expensive coffee in the world. Blue Mountain coffee!

We hired backs and rode them all the way down the mountain! Amazing expereince I recommend you do this tour, they even show you the local herbs ,*COUGH COUGH Weed!*

We didn't travel much outside the resort as it was our honeymoon and we was totally drained after the wedding!

Local Currency in Jamaica is US Dollars, they also have Jamaican dollars but they prefer US dollars as it has more value...

The local people are friendly and full of energy! Other tours we did was, the visit to Dunns River Falls, no picture as we wasn't allowed to take our cameras as they would get wet as we had to climb the waterfalls! But here's a picture I found on google

My attempt at blogging

Hey I'm Amit, and I am a UK born Asian living in London.

I work for Disney, where I am a web developer for their website.

Wow how interesting you say! Yeah I know sorry I suck! :p

This blog is going to be mainly about documenting my travels and technology, although I will most probably throw random entries in here too :)

I was inspired to start up this blog because of two popular bloggers in Malaysia.

Both bloggers are very popular in Asia and indeed around the world! I read their blogs on the daily basis. They get to do cool stuff and attend events and travel alot! They are both very inspirational bloggers and I thank them for inspiring me to start my own blog and follow in their foot steps.

Blogging is popular in Asia and blogging can take you very far on that side of the world. I wish that blogging had this sort of impact over here as much as it does in Malaysia and other countries in the region!

Although I most likely wont have any reader coming to the blog, I see it as a way to document my travels around the world and have some way of looking back at all the things I have done.

Traveling is something I am really keen on, I have so far traveled to the following countries

USA, France, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, India, Thailand and Jamaica.

I will have to blog about my previous trips to catch up! Although I don't have many pictures from some of my trips!

As for future trips, I have a trip booked at the end of October to visit some more places in Asia. I don't know what it is, but when ever I go to that side of the world, I feel the sense of Home, somewhere I belong, somewhere I feel more comfortable. There something that all Asian countries have in common, it's probably their culture, something that I adore so much in my culture from where my parents come from, India..

I will be visiting the following places this October with my lovely wife...

Hong Kong, Singapore, Bali, Kuala Lumpur

If you live near or in any of these cities please do contact me, as I intend to make friends along the way in my travels.

Well Thats enough ramblings for now...

Pictures from my past trips coming soon!
